Giorgos Armenis (Klimatia, Ioannina, 18 October 1943) is a Greek actor, director and playwright.
He was a student of Karolos Koun. He had a difficult childhood as his parents divorced early and he was raised by his mother. Before becoming an actor, he had worked in various jobs and also worked as a sailor and was of left-wing political background. As he himself admitted in an interview, the impetus to get involved in theater was a radio show, during which he heard Koun speak. At the urging of Alekos Alexandrakis, he took talent exams for Koun's school, which he passed and even studied with a scholarship during the period 1967-1970. Subsequently, he completed 50 years in the theatrical genre, while at the "Karolos Koun" Art Theater he had remained for 22 consecutive years, until the death of his teacher. His well-known works are "Prova" and "Soi". In addition to the theater, he appeared in and directed several television series, while he also starred in cinema, winning significant distinctions.
On television, he has appeared in the series: Through the Crowd, Our Uncle Mimis, Haire Tasso Karatasso, Quietly... the Homeland Sleeps, Auntie's House, I Want to Meet You, Hotel Amore, Small Routes, Our Family, The Third Crown, The Prince, The Seagull's Flight, The 10th Commandment, Angelina's Treasure, Karyotakis, The 3rd Law, Life in the Grave, The Family, Six Nights on the Acropolis, Saint Paisios: From Farasa to Heaven, This Night Remainsdevamını oku
